EDUCATION COURSES

Learn from Will Jenkins owner and operator of Jenkins Plumbing and Gas who is now offering online and in-person instruction for ambitious gas fitter seeking to increase their gas knowledge and or to obtain their State Gas License. Jenkins is a Virginia Licensed Instructor for the International Fuel and Gas Code.

(Note: To obtain your State Gas License you are required to have 10 years’ experience under a Master Gas Fitter.)

Two educational options are offered to student for a fee.

Online Courses
$299

Online courses (also available in classroom) will teach students everything they need to know about Chapter 4 of the Fuel and Gas Code Book, ranging from how to read and understand Sizing Tables in addition and how to design and install gas piping. Students will also be shown examples of pipes, fittings and other material necessary to correctly size gas piping both Residentially and Commercially.

This course will cover:

  • Riser Diagrams
  • Low pressure piping
  • High pressure piping
  • Split hi-low systems
  • Hybrid systems
  • Manifolds
  • Pressure Regulators
  • Underground Permits with single and multiple branch lines on each system.
  • Both Natural Gas and Propane.
  • Safety Information

This is only a small part of the Gas Code Book. With gas piping there must be a vent piping system to carry away the exhaust from combustion. This is not included in this lesson series.

Classroom Courses
$1,500

In the classroom courses Will Jenkins will take his students through the entire International Fuel and Gas Code book across 6 days. Each classroom session lasts 8 hours. For student who need additional clarification, Will Jenkins can stay an additional two hours. The course is only available in-person and is not available online.

Currently, the course is taught In Manassas, Va., and registers approximately 25-40 students per class. However, upon request the course can be brought to any location within Virginia with a required minimum of at least 40 students.

The International Fuel Gas Code establishes minimum requirements for fuel gas systems and gas fired-appliances and equipment installation, such as fuel gas piping systems, combustion and ventilation air, chimneys and vents, gaseous hydrogen systems, and more.

This course will offer:
